The welding process that is capable of transmitting large amounts of heat at high speeds is gas electric welding or GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding). The design mechanism for the movement of the X and Y axes in the development of GMAW welding holders uses the stages of finding ideas, studying literature, identifying problems, designing, making tools and testing machines. The purpose of this study was to design a mechanism for moving the X and Y axes in the development of an automatic GMAW torch holder machine and to calculate the machine elements in the development of an automatic GMAW torch holder machine.</em></p> <p><em>The process of designing and constructing the movement of the X and Y axes in the development of an automatic GMAW welding torch holder machine is carried out with a design procedure that is used as a reference in solving problems. The components of this car floor carpet material consist of a skin section which includes a surface made of polyester staple fiber plastic fiber, binders made of latex SBR material, backing made of Polyethylene (PE) powder and the under layer made of Polyester Fiber material (PET) Silencer. The carpet material for the vehicle floor was made into three samples to determine the average of sound absorption coefficient. The sound absorption coefficient was obtained from testing the flat test sample using the ASTM E1050-98 tube impedance method. The use of Polyethylene (PE) powder as a backing for floor mats has a sound absorption coefficient with a rating of B (above 0.8) at a frequency of 3,000 Hz. While the sound absorption coefficient reaches the highest point of 0.99 at a frequency of 3,000 Hz. This is because the backing with Polyethylene (PE) powder material has porous holes. The micro surface is used as a layer of air space so that it can effectively reduce and increase the absorption of sound that occurs inside the vehicle when driving. Steel is a metal material that is easily found on the market, but it has not fulfilled the desires of consumers in the market. This steel can be hardened by heat treatment (heat treatment). The surface treatment process is carried out to obtain the desired hardness, this can be done by increasing the carbon (C) element in the steel material, the carbon content in the standard steel structure is 0.3% - 0.59% the carbon content will have an effect. on hardness, one way to increase the element carbon (C) in steel and increase the hardness on its surface is by carburizing. This research will examine the hardness level of low carbon steel by using a pack carburizing process with different times of 2; 2.5 &nbsp;and 3 hours and the quenching process with pure water media.. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of holding time on the pack carburizing process with coconut shell charcoal - barium carbonat on the hardness value of ST 42 steel.&nbsp; Besides that for &nbsp;effect of holding time on the pack carburizing process with coconut shell charcoal on the microstructure. There are differences in the surface hardness and microstructure values ​​ before and after the carburizing process. Where the highest hardness value occurs at a holding time of 3 hours with a hardness value of 872.9 HVN or an increase of 382% of the raw material and is supported by the dominance of the martensite phase which is more and more evenly distributed. Compared to the ST 42 steel raw material before the pack carburizing process was carried out, the hardness value was 174.8 HVN. The purpose of this study is to design disc brakes on a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) car with consideration of the results of the calculation analysis based on the specifications of the reference car. The resulting design is in the form of main components which include calipers, pistons, discs, pads, rivets, pins and bolts. Based on this design, the calculation results show the braking process when a car traveling at a speed of 245 km/h can stop at a braking distance (s) of 42 m with a braking time </em> &nbsp;<em>4 seconds. The next research is to make a mathematical model to optimize the dimensions of the brake components needed at the ideal braking distance.</em></p> Eko Ari Wibowo, Widyastuti, Muhammad Nur Wahyu Hidayah, Ida Betanursanti Copyright (c) 2023 Accurate: Journal of Mechanical Engineering and Science Sun, 30 Apr 2023 00:00:00 +0700 Studi Kelayakan Produksi Briket dari Kayu Karet dan Sekam Padi Sebagai Upaya Diversifikasi Energi Berkelanjutan <p><em>This research aims to evaluate the feasibility of producing briquettes from rubber wood and rice husks as a step towards sustainable energy diversification. Qualitative and quantitative analyses were conducted on the raw materials, considering their physical and chemical properties as well as calorific values. The production process involves drying, grinding, mixing, compacting, and forming using simple technology. Feasibility study results show positive attributes of the briquettes, with low ash content at 1%, high calorific value at 5016 kJ, and low moisture content at 0.9%. Briquettes offer potential as clean and efficient energy sources. Economic analysis reveals an NPV of IDR 407,729 and an IRR of 20%, surpassing the 12% case of capital rate.
